Donezo

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 28, 2026

Donezo helps families plan chores, approve finished tasks and turn points into rewards. This policy explains what information Donezo keeps, why, who helps us run the service, and how you can delete it. Donezo is set up and managed by parents; children use it only through a profile their parent creates.

Information we collect

Parent accounts: your name, email address and password, and your role in the family (mother, father or guardian) if you choose one. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider. If you sign in with Apple or Google instead, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us (with Apple you can choose to hide your email). We also keep your language and time zone so tasks appear on the right days.

Child profiles that a parent creates: the child's first name or nickname, age, colour and a built-in avatar, and the child's gender (girl or boy) only if the parent chooses to add it; it is optional. To let a child sign in on their own device, a parent can create a six-digit code; it is stored hashed, works once and expires after ten minutes.

What your family creates in the app: tasks, schedules, points, rewards, reward requests, approvals and in-app notifications.

Subscription status: whether your family has Donezo Premium, which plan and when the current period ends. See Subscriptions below.

Usage of the welcome screens: a random install id and which screens and buttons were used while setting up Donezo. See How we improve the welcome screens below.

Donezo does not use your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts or location. Profile pictures are built-in avatars, so no photos are collected.

Notifications: if you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can deliver them. Turning notifications off or signing out removes the token.

We do not show ads, we do not use advertising or tracking SDKs, we do not send usage data to third-party analytics services, and we never sell or rent personal information. Donezo does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How we use information

To run Donezo: keeping your family's data in sync across devices, showing each child their own tasks, sending the notifications you asked for, and calculating points and streaks.

To provide Donezo Premium: checking that your family's subscription is active and restoring it on a new device.

To improve the app: seeing where parents get stuck while setting up Donezo, as described below.

To keep accounts safe: for example limiting sign-in attempts and the number of notifications and AI requests per family.

We do not use your family's information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles.

Subscriptions

Parents unlock Donezo with a Donezo Premium subscription (weekly, monthly or yearly). You buy it from Apple through the App Store, or from Google Play on Android, and the store handles payment. Donezo never sees your card details or your Apple or Google account password.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Your family's random Donezo id is your RevenueCat user, so every parent in the family shares one subscription. RevenueCat receives that id and the store's record of the purchase (the plan, price, currency, purchase and renewal dates and whether it is active), along with basic technical details such as the platform and app version. It does not receive your name, email address or anything your family creates in Donezo.

When a subscription starts, renews, is cancelled or ends, RevenueCat tells our server, which saves the family's plan, its status and when the current period ends with your family's account.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. You can manage or cancel yours at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting your Donezo account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in the store as well.

How we improve the welcome screens

When Donezo is first opened, it makes a random install id on the device. While a parent goes through the welcome screens, account setup and the subscription screen, Donezo records which screens and steps were shown and which buttons were tapped (for example which plan was picked, or whether notifications were allowed), with the time, the app's language, the platform (iOS, Android or web) and the app version.

These events contain no names, email addresses or anything your family creates. Before you sign in they are linked only to the install id; once you are signed in, they are also linked to your account's user id.

We use them only to see how parents get through setup and to compare versions of the welcome screens. They are stored with Supabase, never shared with anyone else, and deleted automatically after 180 days. When you delete your account, they are no longer linked to it.

You can turn this off at any time in Settings, under Share usage data. Donezo then stops recording these events on that device and discards any it has not sent yet.

AI family reviews (optional)

A parent can ask Donezo for an AI-written family review. The first time a parent asks for one, Donezo asks whether to share task counts for it, and remembers the answer for that account. It stays off unless a parent allows it, and it can be stopped at any time on the review screen.

When it is on, Donezo sends Gemini, a large language model (LLM) from Google, only counts: tasks scheduled, completed, awaiting approval and overdue, by weekday and by child. Children appear only as Child 1, Child 2 and so on. Names, task titles and descriptions, and calendar dates are never sent.

Children's privacy

Children cannot create a Donezo account on their own. Only a parent can add a child profile and give the child a sign-in code.

We collect only what the parent enters and what the child creates while using tasks, such as marking a task done or requesting a reward. Children cannot message anyone outside their family, and Donezo shows them no ads.

Only a parent can buy a subscription. Children never see prices, the subscription screen or any purchase.

Parents can see, change and delete their child's information at any time in the app. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's permission, contact us and we will delete it.

Service providers

Supabase stores Donezo's database and accounts and runs our server functions.

Expo and Apple's push notification service deliver notifications to your device.

RevenueCat manages Donezo Premium subscriptions with the information described under Subscriptions. Apple (or Google Play) sells the subscription and takes payment.

Google provides Gemini, the AI model that writes AI family reviews, only when a parent turns that feature on and only with the counts described above.

These providers process information only to provide their service to Donezo, under terms that require them to protect it at least as well as this policy does.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account exists. Usage events from the welcome screens are deleted after 180 days, whether or not you still use Donezo.

You can delete your account in the app under Settings, Delete account. This permanently removes your parent account and your family's AI reports. When the last parent of a family deletes their account, the whole family is erased, including child profiles, tasks, rewards and the family's subscription status. Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat keep their own records of past purchases under their own privacy policies.

A parent can remove a child profile from that child's edit screen, which erases the child's information.

Security

Information travels over encrypted connections. Family data can be read only by members of that family, enforced by access rules on our database.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may have further rights under local law. Contact us and we will reply within 30 days.

Terms of use

Donezo is provided under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Parents are responsible for the accounts and child profiles they create. Rewards in Donezo are agreements within your family; Donezo does not sell, deliver or guarantee them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and we will tell you in the app before any change that affects how your family's information is used.
